Brave Bold Beautiful

I wouldn’t typically call myself a feminist, or I guess I’ve never identified as such, but I would say that I am an advocate of woman empowering each other to achieve their greatness. Then something happened that made me think more deeply about this. It was a situation when each circumstance seems small until they pile up then inevitably a massive shift happens. Something like, the straw that broke the camels back.

To name a few: I’m trained as a Social Worker, so equality has always been a passion. Then I became a mother of two beautiful girls and suddenly influence, more specially my influence and society’s influence on my children, became a reoccurring thought. These experiences led me to reassess who exactly I wanted to be in this world. And more recently, all the mess this year with global politics has me thinking deeply.

Wrap these together and issues affecting women became something that I could no longer only think or worry about.  I needed to do something, but I didn’t know what to do. This was a place I sat in for a while; what to do, or how to do it. What could I do as one person? What influence did I want to leave on the world?

Like most of you I’m sure, I want to raise my girls to be confident with who they are and what they can do. I want them to love themselves.

So, in a moment of bravery I decided to create a space that was for every woman to feel welcome, happy, empowered, and strong. My goal was to highlight women who are (or strive to be) Brave, Bold and Beautiful.

I created a thought-provoking place for everyday extraordinary women who cheer each other on, support each other and learn from one another. The fact is, it is a simple Facebook Group called #BEBRAVEBOLDANDBEAUTIFUL, yet a prime example for my girls that one person with an idea can make an impact.

I share my story with you because I know I’m not the only woman who has been sitting on a thought or idea that can inspire others. You know, the idea that keeps nagging at you but your just haven’t done yet. I encourage you to go out there and make your mark, create the best version of yourself!

Be Brave Bold and Beautiful
